THE VARIOUS PHASES

You generically defines the pest control as the whole operations extending to the elimination or, at least, limitation of the parasites among which arthropods, muridae and weeds and of their damages.
This term includes both the simple spray application with spray can in domestic environment, that the real plans of struggle that every serious pest control operators, worthy of such name, should always undertake.
It must be added that often, with such word it is pointed out the struggle to the insects, while you employ rodent control for the rats and weeding is used for the weeds.

THE VARIOUS PHASES
We take advantage of this occasion to remember that a rational pest control should include the following phases:

Monitoring for the opportune fundamental evaluations (degree and infesting kind, environmental conditions, etc.)
It’s often a neglected or gives for discounted phase and from this numerous misunderstandings are born. Analysing this in detail three sub phases emerge:
• Environmental study with particular reference to the "pressure of infestation".
• Evaluation of the present parasites.
• Project of the struggle’s plan, in which it is fundamental to deepen the real economic aspects.

Prevention’s practices that aim to eliminate or to decrease the factors that favour development of the infesting ones (for example direct cleanings) or to make difficult its access (Pest and Rat Proofing).
In the food chain or in the hospital garrisons this phase includes operations of correct maintenance, things that should have general character. We hold useful to underline the fact that, in a logic of management, the binomial pest control-maintenance shelters us from interventions of emergency obviously unwanted for the sanitary danger, as well as of image
and the obvious not foresee economic implications and so out of budget.

Real struggling intervention, carried out to 360°, with methods and equipments suitable for the necessity.
This phase, that we analyse in detail up ahead, must be supported from a planning capable to adopt to the real necessity, overall if the infestation is subject to climatic variables.

Monitoring of control for a careful check of the results. Obvious, but for this cause often disregarded, this phase represent the normative instrument and, in its formalization, of certification.
We underline the relevance of a correct result’s documentation in function of the fact what is required from the rules that settled these services in the context of the places used to every manipulations of foodstuffs.
Moreover the “information’s fluxes” concerning the controls, but not only, fall within the rules ISO 9000 of the quality system.

Other phases must not be neglected, like the poster designing for the signals and warning and the mutual correct information between the users of the service and the workers; in this chapter those practices of collaboration aimed to the optimization the services in the logic of the safety must be underlined.
